Stability

The behavior of a yacht at sea or under sail is of utmost importance for the safety and ease-of-use. Each type of vessel has a different standard for stability requirements.

On the one hand this standard is determined by user experiences and on the other hand it is laid down in (inter)national rules and regulations. Among such rules are the CE approval and rules of classification societies such as GL, BV or Lloyd's.

Based on the general arrangement, weight calculations and hull shape, the stability is calculated using specialized software. Intact stability and - when required - damage stability calculations are made, thereby verifying com- pliance with legal and user requirements. When required or desired, we also perform inclining tests.
